С 1 ноября заявления на получение национальных виз (D) и разрешений на временное проживание от граждан Казахстана, Кыргызстана и Узбекистана будут приниматься в Азербайджане.
From 1 November 2026, citizens and permanent residents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan intending to travel to Lithuania for studies or other long-term purposes will be able to submit applications for national visas (Type D) or temporary residence permits through the VFS Global Visa Application Centre in Baku, Azerbaijan. This change does not apply to individuals applying for Schengen visas (Type C).
The decision has been taken in order to optimise the application process and ensure more efficient administration of migration procedures.
VFS Global visa application centres representing Lithuania in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan will continue to accept applications for Schengen visas (Type C). A Schengen visa is intended for short-term stays within the Schengen Area, including tourism, business travel, official visits, family visits and other short-term purposes. It does not provide a basis for long-term residence, studies or employment in Lithuania where a national visa (Type D) or a temporary residence permit is required under applicable legislation.
